by Kassandra Lamb ~ I wanted to share with you all some great reads for Autumn that I’ve discovered recently (plus one I’ve known about for some time).
They include the free first-in-series story, Undertaking Irene, of Pamela Burford’s Jane Delaney series. What a romp!
This series has a very creative premise. Jane Delaney, aka the Death Diva, makes a living by doing anything that’s not blatantly illegal at funerals, from being a paid mourner to swiping an heirloom brooch off the corpse before it can be buried with her.
Well written with quirky but somehow realistic characters, I am so glad I discovered this fun book and series. (See my full review HERE.)
The book I’ve been familiar with for a while is by one of my sister misterio authors, K.B. Owen.
It stars my favorite historical female sleuth, Pinkerton agent Penelope Hamilton, who never leaves home without her lock picks and her double-barreled derringer tucked inside her reticule.
The first book in the series, Never Sleep (the Pinkerton Detective Agency’s motto), is 99¢.
And K.B. recently released Book 5 in the series, set at Christmas time in 1887. I just finished reading The Twelve Thieves of Christmas and it is excellent.
And last but not least, this month…
The first-in-series of M.M. Chouinard’s police procedural thriller series, The Dancing Girls is full price, but well worth the $2.99 price tag.
Check out all these reviews HERE on my website. And see our interview with M.M. Chouinard HERE.
